Live Show Disaster

This story takes place in the year 2001, when Patty was 7 years old and her sister, Peggy, was 11. Their mom, Sharon, got them tickets to see an Elf Land live show that was coming to town - Patty watched the show on TV and enjoyed it, but Peggy, being the bully she was and still is, absolutely hated it and found it to be merely saccharine and annoying. However, that didn't stop Sharon from taking them, and promised Patty that she would take her backstage to meet Norville and Callie, the show's two most beloved elf characters. Once they got there, they found that Layla and Luke were played by adult actors and the elves were people in costumes - larger than how they looked on the TV show - this horrified Patty that she asked Sharon for some popcorn at one point and to go to the bathroom another, though she still wanted to go backstage, just to make sure Norville and Callie weren't giants. When the show was done and it was backstage time, she tried her best to go backstage rather than waiting in line with her mom and sister that she actually snuck backstage, where Sharon and Peggy caught her and the latter told her she got to meet Norville and Callie, who entered the room, so Sharon took a picture of them with her with the costumed Norville lifting her up, and as you can see, she's indeed absolutely horrified. Sharon heard that parents demanded refunds on their Elf Land LIVE! tickets because of this reason - the characters were larger than they were on the show and really terrifying. Patty will never forget that experience, though she still likes Elf Land and watches it on occasion, and Sharon still shows it to her sometimes just to embarrass her.
