Who remembers Kids for Character? The direct-to-video special released in 1996, set at Universal Studios Orlando and hosted by Tom Selleck in which different educational shows that were popular at the time teach kids about the six pillars of character - trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship? The shows featured were The Puzzle Place, Barney, The Magic School Bus, Lamb Chop's Play Along, Gullah Gullah Island, and Babar, and the sequel Choices Count had Bananas in Pyjamas, The Big Comfy Couch, and Wishbone.
I've had two dreams so far this year in which I did my own version of this special, or, more specifically, its finale, and, now, I decided to make my dream(s) come true - with characters from different shows, not just the big purple guy, a lot, if not most, of which came out since the original, and new kids (the ones from https://cdn.psychologytoday.com/sites/default/files/styles/article-inline-half-caption/public/field_blog_entry_images/2019-05/kidsshutterstock_127688339.jpg?itok=lQXO1JUT), since the ones from the original (Katie, Michael, Sarah, Maria, Patrick, and Joey - Katie was also in Allegra's Window and Big Bag) are probably grown now. Here's how the finale would go like.
Kids: We're kids for character
Here we stand, we're unified
Side by side
Let's get together while we can
Come on and take a stand for character
Arm in arm, all across the land
Hand in hand,
The future is ours
We are kids for character
Pablo, Tyrone, Uniqua, Tasha, and Austin: You hold the key
To make the world a better place to be (Chica: (spoken, or should I say, squeaken) Squeak! (Yeah!))
Let others know that you care
O.C. Kid: (spoken) It's Barney!
Barney: Show respect to those around you (Baby Bop: (spoken) Wow! (giggles))
Be courteous and be polite (spoken) Yeah! (BJ: (spoken) Cool!)
Appreciate your friends for who they are. (giggles)
We're kids for character
Here we stand, we're unified
Side by side
Let's get together while we can
All: Come on and take a stand for character
Arm in arm, all across the land
Hand in hand,
The future is ours
We are kids for character
Dora: (spoken) It's up to YOU to accept responsibility, in all the things you say and do!
Banjo: Just to fess up when you mess up
Star: (spoken) Walk your talk, (singing) it shows integrity (O.C. Kid: (spoken) Yeah!)
Star and Banjo: Be trusted by your friends
And you will be...
All: A kid for character
Here we stand, we're unified
Side by side
Let's get together while we can
Come on and take a stand for character
Arm in arm, all across the land
Hand in hand,
The future is ours
We are kids for character

Moose A. Moose: You've got to keep an open mind
When you are listening
Show fairness
In all the things you do
O.C. Kid: (spoken) Wonder Pets!

Ming Ming: Obey the rules,
Tuck: espect authority
Linny, Tuck, and Ming Ming: A good citizen is what you'll be.
All: We're kids for character
Here we stand, we're unified
Side by side
Let's get together while we can
Come on and take a stand for character
Arm in arm, all across the land
Hand in hand,
The future is ours
We are kids for character
We're kids for character
Here we stand, we're unified
Side by side
Let's get together while we can
Come on and take a stand for character
Arm in arm, all across the land
Hand in hand,
The future is yours
Be a kid for character
Kids: (spoken) 'Cause character counts!
The future is yours
Be a kid for character
Kids: (spoken) 'Cause character counts!
The future is yours
Be a kid for character
I really love this song!
I'll do a DVD cover after I decide which shows will teach what pillars. And before you ask, no, this is not Pooh's Adventures, this is a version of a 1996 crossover special that actually happened.
