The Mountains of Beyond

This story takes place in the year 2011. After a show one afternoon, Liz had introduced Chica to an animated series she had watched years ago, The World of David the Gnome. This show, which ran on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. block during its early days, is about a gnome and his wife, Lisa, as they, along with their pal Swift the Fox, outsmart trolls, humans who cause nasty damages, and discuss nature, with each episode featuring a lesson for its viewers. 26 days after Chica first watched it, she had completed all episodes except the last one, which Liz told her that she didn't think she should watch for a reason she preferred not to name, but Chica decided she was brave enough for a 4-year-old to watch it, so they watched it together later that day. The episode, called "The Mountains of Beyond," had David and Lisa, along with their friend, Casper, having to travel to the titular mountains as their time on Earth is coming to an end - gnomes die when they turn 400. As you can see, it's nearly the end of the episode and Liz is watching sadly, fighting back tears, while Chica can't help but bawl as David and Lisa say their farewells to one another. This is my second picture today based on an episode in the blameitonjorge video "Top 20 Saddest Moments in Kids' Shows," the first being https://www.artstation.com/artwork/WXYY22 (which is a cartoon version of the Mr. Hooper episode of Sesame Street).
