The next morning is Christmas again. Everyone in the Hills of Sprout is giving out presents and selling Christmas stuff. Sean and Noodle have been selling Christmas trees, while others are giving out gifts to each other. Star is especially happy his wish came true!
STAR: Yay! it’s Christmas again! Christmas every day makes everyone happy!
As he speaks, a familiar face appears.
SANTA (o.c.): Not quite everyone.
STAR: Oh, it’s Santa Claus.
SANTA: Shhh! Star, what have you done?
STAR: Well, Santa, I wished for Christmas to be every day.
SANTA: You can’t have Christmas every day!
STAR: Yes, you can!
SANTA: No!
STAR: Yes, it’s easy. Today is Christmas, tomorrow will be Christmas, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day - that’s what makes a Christmas every day, and nobody has to go to work, or go to school, or...
SANTA: Star, would you listen to me? If people don’t work, who will make things we need? And if kids can’t go to school, how will they be able to learn? Christmas every day is a bad idea. Star, let’s not talk about this anymore.
STAR: But why?
SANTA: Because it’s been away for Christmas and have it once a year and have a life in between Christmas is fun but Christmas every day is too much
Every day can't be Christmas,
That wouldn't be such a treat,
You can get tired of chocolate candy when that's all you eat,
Every day can't be your birthday,
That wouldn't be such fun,
Too many birthdays aren't as much fun as one,
That you wait for
Wait for joy and recall
That if every day was Christmas
There wouldn't be Christmas at all.
STAR: But, Santa, I wanted Christmas every day! You gave me the snow globe that grants three wishes and they’re all my wishes and I want Christmas to be every day!
SANTA: I did thought you might say that you should see for yourself for what you wished for so I brought somebody you might be familiar with, and she's going to take you with her. Here she comes right now!
Star turns around and sees Molly Maaanners the sheep.
STAR: Molly Maaanners, it’s so good to see you again!
MOLLY: Hello, Star, it’s so good to see you, too!
STAR: where are you taking me, Molly?
MOLLY: I’m taking you to the future to see what Christmas would be like like in the summer!
STAR: Christmas in the summer?
MOLLY: Yes! That was after you made that wish and for you to see if you really like Christmas everyday. Are you ready, Star?
STAR: I am!
MOLLY: Hold on tight!
Molly sprinkles flying dust on both of them and they fly up into sky around the spinning earth and the landing down to the Hills of Sprout in the summer and land with a crash.
STAR: That was a bumpy landing!
MOLLY: Yes. I need to slow down a bit when I land.
STAR: Wow, is this Christmas in the summer?
MOLLY: Yes. This is 6 months after you wished it for Christmas to be every day. Why don’t you look around to see how everyone feels about Christmas being in the summer?
STAR: Okay.
And, with that, Star starts walking around the hills.
